ABOUT VEIL
VEIL is a short film created by American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory Fellows as their MFA degree thesis project.
This film is about Leila, a muslim, teenage girl. When she shows up to prom in a conservative dress, her beliefs, religion, and, culture get tested. Throughout the course of the night her experience helps her in getting a glimpse of who she thinks she wants to be.
AFI Conservatory is a two-year Master of Fine Arts program which provides training in six filmmaking disciplines: Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Producing, Production Design and Screenwriting. Admission to AFI Conservatory is highly selective, with a maximum of only 140 graduates per year. As part of the education fellows must each submit a thesis project in order to complete their degree.
